Introduction

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a disease that attacks a person’s immune system and makes it difficult for them to fight infections and diseases. HIV can eventually cause AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), a worsening health condition marked by numerous and frequent infections and even cancer. There are various options for treating HIV/AIDS (and the illnesses they cause), but there is currently no cure for HIV/AIDS.

This section includes information about HIV/AIDS, programs and policies that impact HIV/AIDS and we can work to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and assist those living with the disease.
